Tiah Barnes is a creative force, lifelong learner, and educator hailing from the creative capital of the world, New York City. Her passionate energy has molded a career that has impacted all ages and walks of life. The work of creating inclusive environments has been the intersection of her practice which spans over twenty years.

Throughout her career in education, she has served children and families as a school psychologist (both in New York and Connecticut public schools), as an educational leader both in special education and building administration, and as an adjunct professor. As a writer, her talents can be experienced through her published memoir: All or Nothing: 2011, as a contributing writer and advisor for the CT State Department of Education: Guidelines for School Psychologist, 2021, and author to a host of poems and short stories (publications pending). She adds to her creative credits her love for dance which she channels through her fourteen-year career as a Zumba® and wellness professional.

Currently, Tiah is the CEO of Pearle, LLC a consulting organization specializing in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and wellness. Pearle’s mission is to positively enhance the lives of all through real-life exploration. Believing that the key to a more inclusive society is by helping others recognize and engage in both personal and operational improvement. The ultimate goal is to greatly impact change for traditionally marginalized communities.

Personally, Tiah is a proud single parent to daughter Zoii, a godmother and “ride or die” friend. She enjoys hiking with her dog Bella, reading, music, spending time with her family, hosting game nights, and anything fitness related.
